In 2016, Ningbo SANXING Smart Electric Co., Ltd. launched its venture into the Nigerian market, embarking on a collaborative project on the electricity meters with Mojec, the leading local metering manufacturer in Nigeria. This partnership has successfully filled a market gap for SANXING in the Nigerian market.

Scale: 1.5 million meters across 9 Distribution Companies (Discos)-one of the largest AMI deployments in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Solution: We deployed 4G/2G cellular communication with RF for last-mile connectivity where needed.

This hybrid approach ensures reliable communication across Nigeria's diverse terrain.

Scope: This was a comprehensive Supply and Installation EPC project-we didn't just supply meters; we handled the entire deployment:

①MDC (Meter Data Concentrator) installation

②FDM (Field Data Management) system deployment

③Meter supply and installation

④Mobile APP for maintenance

⑤Vending system integration

Performance: 99% reading rate achieved across all Discos-demonstrating that high performance is possible even in challenging environments.

Innovations: The mobile maintenance app enables field crews to receive work orders, report completion, and upload photos — all from their phones. This streamlined operations and improved response times.

Integration: The vending system integrates with multiple payment platforms, allowing customers to purchase electricity through various channels while ensuring secure revenue collection.

This project demonstrates Sanxing's ability to deliver complex, large-scale deployments in emerging markets, working with multiple utilities and meeting the rigorous requirements of international development finance institutions.

In 2023, Nigeria embarked on the WB international bidding project, which stands as the largest turnkey initiative in Africa in recent years. Manufacturers from nearly 50 meter countries across the globe converged to compete for a portion of this esteemed project. Fierce though the competition was, we triumphed, securing the bid for 4 lucrative lots. This success was a testament to the relentless efforts of the SANXING team in Nigeria, who persevered for seven months and ultimately qualified for the technical evaluation process with a huge price advantage.

In August 2024, the project was officially inaugurated upon the signing of contracts with TCN. As the largest supplier of this endeavor, SANXING, leveraging its vast expertise of over 30 years in professional technology and project management, will partner with local installation companies to guarantee the provision of unparalleled quality and service at every stage. This concerted endeavor aims to not only fulfill customer demands but also maximize customer satisfaction, ultimately establishing this project as a paragon of excellence in Africa.
